Dr Alpesh Patel is a Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer at Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS), developing cutting-edge intelligent manufacturing innovations through Industry 4.0 technologies such as Robotics, AI, Digital Twin and the Metaverse.
  • Before joining HMGICS, Alpesh was one of the Industry 4.0 leaders in Asia for McKinsey & Company, leading their Digital Capability Centers (DCCs) in Asia Pacific since 2016. Alpesh built Industry 4.0 experience in discrete manufacturing, automotive, motorsports and logistics, which has included leveraging data science and AI applications (e.g. Predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, etc) to improve the business and operational performance of companies.
  • Before McKinsey, he was a Senior Aerodynamicist at the Ferrari Formula One team, where, among other disciplines, he leveraged AI-based Generative Design for the design and validation of innovative aerodynamic shapes for the contenders of the 2004-2011 F1 seasons.
  • Alpesh holds a PhD in Computational Fluid Mechanics (CFD) from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
